god today was one of teh most challenging days of my life. it was really great though. it all started in government, when we got to share what we wrote our letters to the government about. mine, of course, was to the president, to excersize restraint in retaliating to afghanistan. after seth and i had shared, and stacy youngman had made the amazing comment that "afghanistans are evil people," our class went into full-debate mode. basically, me and seth, vs. garrett and john davis. other people commented, in some ways, siding with one side or the other, but basically, it was us four, and everyone knew it. i was wearing a v-neck shirt, and so my chest was all red from the adrenaline rush... i almost threw my desk across the room when stacy said what she did. norris had to cut us off short, which made me even more mad, as if this debate is less educational than what hes got for us to copy down from the overhead. the debate continued into fourth period, when heather decided that she was the supreme authority on the internal intelligence of our nation and that she had the right to argue from the cia perspective, when in reality, the cia has nothing to do with the debate- they just digest information for the government to ingest and decide how to handle it. that pissed me off even more. then, at lunch. more more more. eric fedorshyn, vanessa, etc... all wanted to know, "whats our other option besides bombing afghanistan?" made me more mad. then, in english, jennifer clinton saying that there was no way that she could possibly write a letter of support to an american soldier stationed abroad. im sorry, but to disagree with the situation is one thing. it is another to completely denounce and undermine the people risking their lives for our country. i am completely against offensive measures in afghanistan, however, i would love to write a letter to a soldier and say, although i do not agree with the actions of our government and military in this crusade for justice, thank you for your sacrifice and may peace be with you and all of those around you." its that easy kids.

thats all. needed to get that off of my chest, badly.

have to go watch trading spaces now.

take care.
